Nuclear KM Online Certification Course, February - March 2027

The online course will be offered throughout 8 weeks, once a week, starting from the 4 February 2026. Several timeslots will be offered to accomodate different time zones.

The course will include four blocks:

NKM Kick-off: 4, 11 February 2027

  • Nuclear power and knowledge management in different organizations

  • Terminology, concepts, frameworks

  • Key elements and areas of knowledge management application

KM for People, Processes and Technology: 18, 25 February 2027

  • Knowledge Management and Human Resource

  • Knowledge Management and Quality Assurance

  • Knowledge Management and Information Technology (including use of AI)

  • Management System and organizational culture - focus on safety

KM Tools and Techniques: 4, 11 March 2027

  • Work with tacit knowledge, knowledge externalization and capture techniques

  • Identification of critical knowledge and risk assessment of knowledge and expertise loss

  • Knowledge management for groups and organizational units

Implementing KM Projects: 18, 25 March 2027

  • Fundamentals of project management and change management

  • KM project and implementation - from the problem statement to planning, implementation, integration and to continuous monitoring and review.

NKM Certificate:

A Certificate of Qualification is issued upon meeting three requirements:

  • Attendance

  • Onlike knowledge screen

  • Pilot initiative proposal

All the requirements can be met within the duration of the course. The pilot initiative proposal will be reviewed by subject matter specialists whose feedback represents an additional practical element of the Certification course.

NKM Faculty:

The NKMI links a community of practitioners and trainers on knowledge management who have years of experience in different aspects of knowledge management, specifically in nuclear power and nuclear regulatory domain. Top-experts from Austria, Canada, France, USA and more, are ready to share case-studies and successful approaches.

The faculty names will be posted closer to the course date.

Course hours:

The course will be conducted in two identical offerings in two time slots. to accomodate time difference among participants: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 7 p.m. Vienna-time (Central European time), each Thursday.
